Although Guidance Choir is on vacation
in August, Faye Cowart, Director of Music, has scheduled some awesome music for
us!
Sunday, August 10, 2008, the guest artist is Phyllis Battle!!!
Phyllis has staked her claim as one of LA’s elite vocalists. She was a member
of the 5th Dimension for 16 years, and has toured the world with such
greats as Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, Rita Coolidge, and Donna Summers.
Her studio roster has included sessions with Stanley Clarke, George Duke, and
Bernard Ighner, just to name a few. Phyllis keeps a busy schedule performing,
teaching, volunteering, serving as the Executive Director of the P.E.B.
Foundation, and serving as Co-Music and Artistic Director of the Instrumental
Women's Project.
