Pastoral Care
Pastoral Care
is the Ministry of care, support and benevolence to our church community. When
a challenge presents itself, a simple phone call will put into motion the
spiritual support you need. Home and hospital visits, grief support,
transportation for elderly to church and in-home support are some key services.
Music
Ministry
Music is a
gift of God to life the spirit of man to a more conscious knowing of the love
that is God. Our music program accomplishes its mission in a moving and power
filled way. We have powerful, inspiring music at every Sunday service.
Guidance Choir meets every Thursday at 7:00 PM. We are also in the process of
developing a quarterly Sunday Afternoon Jazz Concert Series.
Seniors
Ministry
We are blessed to have the
gifts of experienced seniors who are using God’s principles to open up a whole
new life of love, care and nurturing as only one’s years of experience can
give. Provides activities and events for everyone.
Volunteer
Ministry
Call Today and
Become A Volunteer In Action! (323) 778-0887
Once you have
joined our family, get involved. We need your help to accomplish our
mission/vision/purpose (MVP) . Be an active supporter of the Guidance legacy to
our church, community and world. The Volunteer Ministry provides an opportunity
to give of yourself in deep, profound service and set the Law of Giving and
Reciprocity (you get what you give) in motion. As “Rev. G” likes to say
“service is love in action.”
Education
Religious
Science is first and foremost a teaching order. We offer classes in the
philosophy of the Science of Mind & Spirit, other New Thought/Ancient Wisdom
Traditions and the “Truth Teachings.” We also have classes on The Holy Bible,
Prayer and Meditation, Self Mastery, Financial Freedom and a Professional
Practitioner Training course. In addition, our Minister, Rev. Nirvana Reginald
Gayle, has developed a powerfully dynamic class called “The Teachings of Jesus,”
based on the words and teachings of Jesus in the Holy Bible. This is a dynamic
and expanding ministry that is always open to new classes/workshops/seminars to
meet the greater needs of our community. Our motto’s are “Be ye transformed by
the renewing of your mind,” and “Give someone fish and you feed them for a day.
Teach them how to fish and you feed them for a lifetime.”
Family
Life
We are a
family . . . A Spiritual family and this ministry cares for the growth and
development of key service organizations: Guidance Men, Guidance Women, Guidance
Ushers, Hostess Club, Ladies Auxiliary, Chancel Care Committee and the Daniel L.
Morgan Scholarship Committee.
Membership
Membership in
the Guidance church is an important part of committing to your own growth and
expansion. Our membership ministry lovingly supports you to formally join our
spiritual family. Once you’re a member, the Membership Ministry helps in the
development of a collective consciousness among our church family members to
feel the church as their spiritual home, family and chosen way to grow
spiritually.
Ministry
of Mission (MoM) or Guidance Outreach Team
This wonderful
ministry puts our principles into active practice and service in our larger
community outside of the walls of our church. We have a program to feed and
provide clothing to the homeless as well as advocate for their condition. We
also are involved in peace advocacy participating in collaborative peace walks
and actively working with efforts to develop an official federal Department of
Peace. We are collaborating with Agape International Spiritual Center with their
Prison Ministry. We are also linked with various Inter-Faith Programs and desire
to be on the cutting edge of advocacy for issues that are of great concern to
the strength, health, vitality and thriving nature of our community and world.
